A surfer at Cuatros Casas told us he recently drove down to Baja with his family and camped at Bahia Conception and they had a simply amazing time. He described how to find the secluded camp site and palapas where they stayed. We decided to take his recommendation and head there to get a bit more flat-water fun time for Nina and Ted and view this breathtaking turquoise water he talked about.

We found the palapas campsite just past Requeson, or at least think we did. We were the only campers in this cove with some run-down palapas and a pit toilet we decided to forego, instead digging a pit and setting up our own porta-pot. The owner, a very nice and very thin old lady, came by collecting the campsite fee, $150 pesos. We didn’t hesitate giving her the money because we really wanted her to eat. Jen also bought one of her handmade shell earring sets. It was a gorgeous cove, but kinda boring. We went over to the neighboring campsite to walk across a high sand bar to an island but that was boring too. Jen obtained 2 leg-fulls of mosquito and sand fly bites and was pretty miserable from that. We were ready to move on after one day there.
